Degussa AG’s coatings and colorants business unit will expand its entire isophorone chemicals production line at the Herne, Germany site. The unit is scheduled to begin operating in 2007. Isophorone and its derivatives, isophorone diamine and isophorone diisocyanate, are sold by Degussa under trade names Vestamin and Vestanat. Vestamin is used to formulate solvent-free coatings for industrial flooring and Vestanat is used in the production of light- and weather-stable automotive paint.
